Hello my name is Herman Moore I have been a resident of Eaves Avalon Woodland Hills since September 28th 2015. My lease ends in two days and I will be addressing some very important Public Health issues with the property and the way that pest control is being handled. First of all I was leased an apartment with a pre-existing roach infestation. I was told by management that this was not the case. After I moved into my home I immediately started... Read more

My wife and I signed up for a 10 month lease in Stratford, CT. When we saw the apartments we were really impressed with the setup and quality. They showed us an apartment that was close to our model. We signed the lease and moved in. When we walked in the apartment smelled like an ash tray. It radiated cigarette smoke, Avalon has a no smoking policy. So I complained and they had to smoke bomb the apartment which delayed my move in. They gave us... Read more

BEWARE!! Avalon Communities have very large annual rent increases. Several hundred dollars every year. The company does not promote long term tenancy.

We have 3 bed 2 bath apartment. Living in Eaves since one year and decided to renew the lease because of certain situations we couldn't move. But, looking back that was the worst decision made. The first problem started with rats. Yes, RATS you heard that right! When complained one of the reason given was "environment". Anyways, they helped us with a new apartment unit and repaid the moving costs. We thought everything would be good. But, since... Read more

Avalon Bay / Eaves misrepresent their properties in advertisements and in person. Every aspect of the communities are maintained reactively, there is neighborhood crime with issues persisting even with staff & police tenants, and amenities are out of order more often than they are fully functional. Elderly residents are sold units hard to move due to stair access or crime and when a tenant complaints to the leasing office about dangerous... Read more

This place is going to get someone killed. Three false fire alarms in the last month. Ranging from 10am to 3am. Water damaged apartments. People completely ignore it now which is a recipe for disaster.. You have everything from floods to elevators that break weekly. Very cheap construction. Skyrocketing rents. Preferential rent to college students while your rent increases. This place is a disaster. The manager is unable to control a... Read more

Avalon is honestly the worst place you can live at. It's crazy expensive and they just keep increasing the rent and it's not close to even being worth it. They have horrible customer service and the people that work in the front office are disrespectful and they don't listen to any complaints you have. You'd think after so many people complain they'd change something but this place keeps getting worse and that's why we're moving out. I wouldn't... Read more

They just sent a refund check. We left the partment in perfect shape. took pics as well. they kept the deposit! LOL $440.98 for cleaning. this is from the state of NJ. so beware. these people are crooks! "The landlord can only charge you for property damage that is more than ordinary wear and tear. Ordinary wear and tear means damage that takes place from the normal, careful use of the property. Examples of normal wear and tear are faded paint... Read more

So, I recently moved out of an Avalon "Community" in Norwalk, CT. I received a final bill which had 4 months of utility and "utility management" fees on it, including water bills that had been included in my rent and already paid for, trash removal fees which had been included in my rent and paid for, sewer fees that had been included in my rent and paid. Then, they charge a "utility management fee" for the utilities that they charge you for and... Read more
